Things I've Liked in October

The first proper amount of snow came today. It was quite refreshing going for a walk. I can't yet imagine that I will weekly go for walks as I've decided. Ballet is the fun thing to do when I have extra energy. So I do that at home this half year. And this is something I would like to do more of! And one of the things I've enjoyed this October.

And seeing the movies Secret Window, It and Notting Hill. Reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and a third book I'll blog about soon. A cool book I read in again and again. It does not seem to end. But actually it is not a big book.

Blogging. I'm enjoying it more now then I've done for a while! And the goal is at least one blog post a week. With beauty as the main topic then books and movies.

I had a nice forest walk recently with my camera around my neck and got a couple nice photos that cloudy day. Walking is one of those things I don't exactly find nice at the beginning but afterwards it is something different. And walking is what I'm going to do now.

What have you enjoyed this month?

New Beauty Favorites

Makeup Mekka Prep Spray. This primer spray is making my skin happy. It gives the skin glow, makes it calm and nourished. It does it so well. I'm keeping my makeup on with this easily. The scent of flowers is nice too. It reminds me of my favorite face spray by Elizabeth Arden.

Skin Treat Deep-Hydrating Hand Cream. The hand cream from Skin Treat is the first product I've tried from this brand. And it is my new favorite hand cream. Now that it is cold outside a product like this is a daily must have. And how nice is smells. As well as beeing good nourishment it is skin clarifying. So hands look prettier too. Good bye dry hands!

October Reading

I assume by the arrogant gaze that the person on the book cover is a Sherlock Holmes character.

I am currently reading A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Reading two of his books  + short stories and seeing Sherlock episodes (the same again and again) the rest of the books about the detective have been on my must read list. :)

After some chapters and a surprising end to the first part of the story I'm now trying to get used to the total shift in place and time. From London to a desert. With other characters to follow.

This book is the first about consulting detective Sherlock Holmes and his friend Dr. John Watson who helps him with cases. As a reader you get to see the detective through John's thoughts. I liked that he made a list over the detectives talents and his not so talented areas. After the doctor moving into the flat where Sherlock lives he helps him with a bizarre crime. That somehow is connected to the story of people in that desert far away. And early in the story Sherlock thinks he has solved the crime.

There are some nice descriptions of situations that I think might have created lasting images in my mind already. Foreshadowing images.

Thriller Movie Recommendation. Secret Window (2004)

I hope you have had a nice weekend. It has been a pretty okay weekend for me. I've had a nice energy level. One of the things I did was to watch movies. I decided to see again a movie I've enjoyed a couple times before. Secret Window. I actually liked it better this time.

Author Mort Rainey (Johnny Depp) gets a visit by a stranger (John Turturro) that claims a story of his has been stolen by Mort. The stranger gives him a bit of time to prove he has not stolen it. Mort experience the stranger becoming dangerous. One day his dog has been stabbed to death. Threats are spoken about damaging people the author cares about. At the same time the authors wife (Maria Bello) have these notions that something bad will happen to Mort. So she calls him again and again.

The intensity of the acting and story developing was nice. I felt dragged into the movie universe fast. I've seen this movie a couple timese before. And will see it again. The movie is based upon Stephen King's story "Secret Window, Secret Garden". Have you read it?

5 Things I Like

Aromage Boutique Fragrances from Nille shop, Kicks Cheek & Lip Tint in shade Pink Petals, Tony Moly Mini Berry Lip Balm Cherry, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation in shade 010 Beige Porcelaine and Garnier Skin Active Botanical Day Cream with Aloe Vera.

Here are some beauty products I like with candles finding their way into the mix. It is autumn.

Look at the candles. The design and shape are adorable. They were the first thing I noticed in the shop. They make a room instantly a bit more cozy. I like a calming scent to fill the rooms. And this one is charming. The light shines with a nice glow.

It is an eye catching color this cream cheek and lip tint. It can not get more orange. But on skin you can create a subtle look.

This soft red lip balm is easy to wear too. The color is just as pretty as the design. It is quite natural with that my lips but better look. It is a nice little feel - good product. It has a dreamy scent as well.

As I struggle with spots and scars having a good foundation is important. This one gives a good coverage quick and easy. The texture looks like silk. The color looks healthy. This is one of my best beauty finds for a long time.

A good face cream for dry skin is one of the most important beauty products to own if one struggles with that. I trust in this face cream. It melts into the skin with a fresh feeling and makes skin feel soft and well moisturised.
