April Makeup

The Norwegian April has a sharp contrast between snowy winter and sunny warmth. Now easter is coming close.  I think these products will be my highlights this month. I like red blushes and glowy foundations with a hint of color. I found a beautiful eyeshadow palette from Gosh today with warm brown colors. They have a hint of sparkle. I'm in love with the pastel looking rouge. So I'll be using it this month too. The one I've written about from Kicks. It's been one of my favorite products this month.

What will you be wearing this month? :)

March Beauty Favorites

I've been using these products throughout March. The rouge has such a fresh almost pastel looking color which is great for spring. My skin looks more rejuvenated with this product and the other ones. The Loreal foundation has a great coverage and color. I went for the second lightest in their range,Vanilla. I should probably have chosen the lightest one, but for now this is great. It is easy to apply and stays on.

Another product I've been using a lot this month is The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion. It feels soothing and rejuvenating and smells florally without being heavy. It makes my skin look healthy and glowing. For my rouges I've been addicted to my Gosh makeup brush. I use this for almost all of my rouges. The texture of the rouges and brush hair makes it easy to apply and switch between colors without left over from the others. I like the practical size and design too.

March Favorite Photo

I like the lightening in this photo, together with the colors. And especially the flowers. The pink and white roses in the two buckets. This was from a lovely spring day we had. I don't think I would have liked this photo if the pink roses hadn't been there. They and the sunny ground add some warmth. We've got snow in Oslo now. I look forward to many more days like this! :) Welcome spring!

Lovely Spring Day

Today I got reminded of a little cafe not to far from where I live. There's always something good to eat and plenty of outdoor space. Since we just had snow a couple days ago I was positively surprised by the sudden weather change that gave an excellent opportunity to sit outside. The sun has been up all day which also gave me some nicer photo opportunities. My main plan today was to visit a huge park, taking many photos. I'm happy with these. The food was delicious =) Peppermint tea <3 The blends are best. I think they are more tasty.

Flowers from a shop nearby. I like these roses! White can look dull, but it's quite elegant too.

Loving at the Moment

This star necklace is one of my forgotten favorites. I love to wear it. It goes with many of my outfits.
I looked through my makeup and found this gem of a highlighter. I use it as an eyeshadow. Over to some newer products I've bought. The Loreal foundation has really impressed me. And so have the Kicks rouges. I own three of them. The color nuances are amazing. They are easy to apply and build up.

This green nail polish is adorable. I love the design just as much as the color. For my highlighter I've been using the Makeup Mekka eyeshadow brush. It is one of the best I've tried. Generally I'm quite impressed with Makeup Mekka products. The highlighter comes off as darker in this image. It's got a softer brown and gold color.

Mindfulness Through Drawing

I bought an interesting book about mindfulness and coloring drawings. I've always connected mindfulness to meditation where the focus is on breathing techniques. I love this idea of focusing your mind. I've looked at different books of this kind and found one that was appealing to me. I love the circles and lines. And the flowers. There are so many unique and interesting patterns in these books.
So far I've found that this is doing wonders for me. I love spending time coloring.

Aren't these beautiful ? :)
Would you have it a go?

Mid week

Lazy Wednesday

I wish I could say I had just as much energy as I've had lately, but today has been a lazy day. I'm thinking about how to decorate my room. Especially my desk. I've done some already. Yesterday I started spring cleaning. My closet will have an update too. Today I've been mainly lying in my bed listening to music. My desk at the moment :)

What have you been doing? :) Have you started spring cleaning?

Drawings

I've started to draw again. It is one of the things I like to do when I'm home. This one I've made for one of my flatmates :) I love to draw with pastels. There are so many colors to choose from and they are so easy to work with. On this drawing below I used dry pastel pencils. They are a little bit more practical to work with since you don't get color everywhere. Some pastel chalk give more pigmentation with a single swipe. One I would love to try again is oil pastel chalks. They are more pigmented then the dry ones. And have a slightly shiny, pearly look to them which comes off really beautiful on paper.

I usually don't have a plan when I find my drawing stuff. I start in the middle of the paper beginning with one symbol followed by another. Sometimes I get an image in my head, more or less complete. Like this one above. I like to draw images in different sizes. Lately I've focused on making book marks.

Here are some more of my other drawings. I hope you like them. And feel inspired to draw :)

Have you tried pastels?

New Favorite Foundation

This foundation immediately made me curious. The packaging and color convinced me to buy one. I went for the shade Vanilla. I'm glad I finally came across a full coverage foundation looking so natural and being affordable. It is really easy to apply. I would usually go for a brush, but this looks just as good without. I love wearing this foundation :) More then my Isadora foundation. This works really well with so many blush nuances. I absolutely love it. The foundation claims to stay on for 24 hours. I'm not convinced but other then that I would definitely recommend trying one of these foundations:)

Spring Sunset

Today has been the loveliest day in a long time. I think it's the spring weather and sun that's uplifting my well being. I've enjoyed reading at the library and picked up some new books. At home I've relaxed reading blog posts. I love when the sun warms up my bedroom. It's something different compared to dry heating. Now I just captured this sunset outside my window. I'm quite happy with this photo.

Next Decoration Time

It takes a couple stunning photos of flowers and a walk around in one of those huge buildings selling flowers and I'm convinced what my next decoration should be built around. These on the two first images are not real, but incredible beautiful and more practical. Flowers are so elegant and perfect for spring.

Music Lately

I've been really enjoying listening to classical music. It suits my mood and energy through a day even when I don't feel like listening.

Favorite Scent

I've been addicted to this beautiful Body Mist from The Body Shop since December. It is so lovely. This one is the Mango Body Mist. It has a sweet, refreshing and calming scent. I think I will repurchase this one during spring.

Random Photos

Sunday Walk

I looked out of the window and wondered if I could get time to capture the beautiful sunlight coloring the wood and sky. After a ten minutes walk I reached the beginning of a path where I usually stop to photograph. The colors had changed into grey, some light and ice blue. Something about the photo above looks fairy tale like. I think it's the tree and the ice blue colors.

This is a place I especially like to go to in summer. I still haven't walked the route around the sea. I often rest down by the sea and talk photos nearby. There are so many birds and trees and plants.

I look forward to walk here when the scenery is more colorful. Already it is warmer outside.

Time to Decorate

I've recently bought some new decorating items. Then I've brushed the dust of some old ones. My messy desk need some proper cleaning and decoration. Now everything is piled on top on other items. The box in front is one of those cute origami boxes I like to make. And I've decided to decorate notebooks again which will end up here  :)

New Blush

I just bought this adorable shade. It looks so elegant. My first overall impression is good. It looks like a versatile shade with good staying power. It feels easy to apply and has a lovely consistency. I like the practical size and elegant design. I could easily have bought many more blushes. The color range is incredible beautiful. I would like to try other products like foundations too. This I will wear on a everyday basis. And it might look good for parties too. It seems to be easy build able.

Have you tried Kicks blushes before?

My Spring Movie List

Spy Game

Mystic Pizza

Miss Potter

The Cutting Edge

Shutter Island

Dark Water

Clue

The Lake House

Which movies will you be watching during spring? :)

The Nail Polishes

I think I might have an addiction again. After spotting the three nail polishes to the left I've been thinking a lot about where to find the perfect nail polishes. I like colors. The two pastel colored ones have been my favorites lately. Now I'm wearing the white one which is turning into a favorite. I find the less expensive nail polishes to be just as good as the more expensive ones. On my wish list are a bold red, a blanc nail polish and a pastel purple.

Which do you favor? :)

Spring Arrival

Yesterday was the first day it felt warmer outside with the sun shining all day. I could finally put on a lighter jacket. It was a lot more comfortable and nice to feel a warmer wind. I'm looking forward to spring and might miss winter a little bit. Mainly because of my interest in photography.

I look forward to photograph the seasonal changes. I love flowers. And more daylight. Winter is pretty though. More daylight means I can bring my camera out more and go to cafes a little late.

I've been shopping clothes and makeup for this season. And I'm glad to say there's many colors to choose from. I've seen some nice handbags I've put on my wish list and clothes. Then I spotted the loveliest coat I would love to have in my wardrobe. Maybe soon. It was not to expensive.

This spring I will explore more of the city and go to more cultural events. I've gotten a new interest in drawing and can not wait to draw more. First I need colors.
