Todays Makeup

Today I've reached for a beige lipstick and a red shimmery blush with to other blushes. The beige lipstick and red rouge have not got as much attention as they should. I found both previous summer and have forgotten them since. The Body Shop blush is great for application and it lasts two years. The color look so lovely, especially for winter! This has a wonderful pigmentation with just enough shimmer for an elegant look. Other products I'm using here are a pink eyeshadow with soft, intense shimmer. And one of my long time favorite products: The Prism color from Smashbox for rouge and highlight. This pink shade look incredible intense, on skin a lot more subtle and easy to work with! I've added some mineral powder in a lighter shade then my bb cream from YSL, which is a huge favorite! I've used some sun powder for contouring on my cheeks and added a little on my forehead. The Soap & Glory mascara is my current favorite. The finish is great! It kind of have a transparent shimmer to it which looks lovely.

Weekend Activity

I've just started seeing The Mentalist season one again. I bought all seasons earlier in the autumn. Now we've just had snow. I went outside with my summery black shoes. In this kind of cold it is always nice to watch something good. I've fallen in love with the series again and will watch more episodes this weekend. Then I've been longing to go out and take photos. Which I will try and do. I've come half way in The Little Friend and will read in this. Then I can not wait to go for walks again. I hope it is not too cold. So far November has been surprisingly warm this year. On my note I've noted to draw. I usually favour the small size paper drawing. 15*20 cm. Though it is practically winter I will still draw flowers. I have not noted anything else on my list. Maybe I'll write, but I think I will prefer a break from that. I've been writing so much on a long story and short stories before that. Today I found a gold cooler clutch with some shimmer that looks super cute. I hope I get use of it. It looks so elegant and petit. This I found at H & M. Sometimes they have great hand bags/purses there. And my favorite now is this little black I found late this summer.

Highlight in Todays Makeup

YSL Heart of Light Powder Blush

I love the soft shiny finish and pearly shade. In the middle there's a little highlight pink beautiful to blend in with the rest. This is very soft on the skin and easy to layer with color on top of base makeup. I like to use this on my cheeks and right under my eyes up towards the corners of my eyes. This reminds me of Christmas makeup. I've been looking for similar shades, even lighter pink than this. But when I got remembered of this I decided to drop looking for a new light pink rouge! I found this in a summer haul curious to try out YSL makeup and I think it's gorgeous. Today I'm wearing it with some of my favorite products like a champagne coloured eye color from Max Factor and a beautiful bb cream from YSL. The cover is quite nice and I love the black, velvet wrapping. It comes with mirror and a small brush a little to small for this application. For cheeks I think but on eyes it is perfect! I'm curious to try one of their similar shades just looking more shiny lilac. Sounds weird? :) I love it!

Reading Now. The Little Friend

 I loved reading The Goldfinch and decided to pick up two more novels from the same author. This is The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. I've enjoyed very much reading in it. The characters become alive and though there are many they don't seem to compete for the readers attention. I like that in the beginning they're given a lot of space each. Now I've come to the part were we get to know more about the main character Harriet. She grows up with the knowledge of her brother's death as something non solved and something she want's to fint out about. And get revenge. This is very well written and interesting. I've not read anything like it. Harriet is perhaps the most interesting character and fun to read about. Sometimes I can't help but laugh crazy much of her.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette Golden Sugar

This is my second blush palette and my first from this brand. Makeup Revolution. This palette is called Golden Sugar in the Ultra Blush Palette series. They look so incredible gorgeous on images and I hope they will suit my skin tone. Today I'm wearing five of the colors. The darkest and light brown as contour, the most purple, the bright pink next to the white highlighter and the latter. I like that there are contouring colors here with the blushes and some of the blushes look almost like highlighter as well. The white is gorgeous for this! This impressed me right away. My first impression is overall good. The texture seem different to others like these colors being more soft on skin. And likewise with pigmentation. I think these will look best in daylight. 

The Prettiest Tinted Lip Balm

 

I've usually not been to impressed with tinted lip balms. The colors often seem to subtle. I like this because it gives a fresh visible color that is so elegant and different to other finishes. The finish is pretty amazing. This lip balm has a lovely rosy scent. I went with the lightest pink shade looking more like deep raspberry on the lips. There are definitely some nourishment enhancing your lips, but a moist that will last I have yet to notice. For the color and finish this is definitely worth a try! I could prefer this to a lipstick.

J.Lo Glow

I had almost forgot about this fragrance since the last time I owned one. But I remembered that I really liked it. If snow could have a scent it would be this. The beautiful little bottle has a fragrance so soft with gentle vanilla. And the designed bottle is super gorgeous. I like this fragrance for everyday wear. It is always comfortable. I can recommend this one if you like subtle, sweet fragrances.

Bourjois Java Rice Powder

When I first saw this product I was a little sceptical wearing this white powder. Now I use it all the time. I think this is a great product if you like good coverage products and layering with soft colors on cheeks and eyes. Then add this on top and to highlight certain areas. Like above lip, nose and forehead. With the right brush it is easy to apply a careful amount. And on skin the finish is pretty gorgeous. The box is so nice too. 

Mac Pure Zen lipstick

This has been the lipstick I've turned to most lately. The creamy shiny matte color is so easy wearable.

Youngblood Luminous Creme Blush

A gorgeous makeup treat with benefit. This is the shade Taffeta which looks fresh orange and red with a pearly finish. Though pink shades are my favorite blush shades I picked this to begin with. I wanted to buy the shimmery pink together with Taffeta. This shade is quite different to any I have seen. Red and orange in a mix does not strike me as uncommon in makeup blush shades but I can't remember seeing anyone like this. The benefit also is that it's is mineral makeup. So far my experience with mineral makeup has been good. And this pot of rouge will probably last for a while.

Diary Diary

A beautiful new writing book. I don't think I've had one like this. I like the pencil following. An elegant touch. I don't come across things like this so often! Once I've finished writing a diary I put it away. This I can imagine will look good on my desk without me getting tired of it.

Current Diary and Desk Items

It's just started to get darker earlier outside and my desk have been incredibly messy. Yesterday and today I've been cleaning and redecorating. New purchases will be white items and see through. This time I've decorated my desk with a messier look but still open and with colors. Though I notice I'm more attracted to white items. Like snow colored ones. These items were the last I picked up. A vase, stone star and white candle holder. Then this shiny thing for flower bouquets. Also new are my box with all seasons of The Mentalist. It's an interesting show with good acting. 

I always write. I've chosen this owl diary I picked up at Victoria & Albert museum while I was in London. The design is from an old wall cover. Looks pretty doesn't it? Owls are cute for decoration and green color nuances are super comfy. The diary cover has a hard surface and does not easily scratch. So I use this for travels as well. Inside it's lined with a soft yellow white paper. And the size is pretty nice.
